Hi we enjoyed a nice drive out in the countryside yesterday down through the hills to Eskdalemuir. Then over to Moffat and back home again.
The first land mark we pass on this road is known as the pipers grave.
This grave marks the spot where a lone piper took up the chalenge to march from the village of Innerleithen to Edinburgh playing the Bag Pipes non stop and not to play the same tune more than once. A few miles up the road people bag to relise he might just manage to make the trip. So they strated to attack the piper who kept on going untill approx 7 miles up the road he died of his his injuries.
This is looking south from the grave.
Looking North from the grave
Just a few miles down the road we spotted this old Ferguson Tractor coming up the road.
Our next stop at the Samye Ling Monastery & Tibetan Centre just north of Eskdalemuir.
This is looking towards the Main Temple. The car park was a bit muddy yesterday but you have to consider that there is still a lot of work on going on the extentions being built.
We took a walk around what is calledthe Stupa Garden area. Where again a lot of improvements plus repairs are on going at the moment.
One of the many hand made Gods within the Garden area. Which is under repair.
close up of the face on the God
One of the other Gods within the garden area.
Looking towards what is called the Stupa Temple.
This is aclose up of the carvings on the Stupa Temple wall.
The next three photos were taken with very kind permission. I was only allowed to take three photos. But three is better than none.
They are of the inside of the Temple.
One of the Tapestrys within the Temple.
some of the many gods in the temple.
We stopped on the way home just north of Moffat.
This is looking south towards Moffat.
I hope you have enjoyed the photos of our small trip in the car yesterday.
