Michael Douglas desperate to make kids filmMichael Douglas is desperate to do a children's film - because his kids can't watch any of his movies. 'The Sentinel' actor - who is best known for roles in adult themed hits, such as 'Basic Instinct' and 'Fatal Attraction' - can't wait to show his softer side so his two children, Dylan, six, and Carys, three, can see him in action. Douglas, who is married to Catherine Zeta-Jones, said: "I desperately want to do one because unfortunately my career is made up of movies that my children cannot see. "I am reaching a point where they know what mommy does but they ask, 'What does daddy do?'" However, Douglas, 61, has refused to make an animated film because they don't pay well enough. www.femalefirst.co.uk/celebrity/114432004.htm

Sir Mick Jagger's fancy dress failureSir Mick Jagger attended his son's 21st birthday party last night (31.08.06) - but failed to get in the spirit of the fancy dress bash. James Jagger organised a medieval-themed ball to see in the big day, but while sister Lizzie embraced the theme by wearing a horned warrior helmet and Viking gown - Mick, 63, was the only guest not to dress up, choosing to wear a black jacket instead. Model Lizzie, 22, merrily partied until four in the morning, while Mick stayed until 3am. Birthday boy James - who is studying at a New York drama school after failing to make it in the music business - arrived in orange leggings and a tunic, but spoiled the authentic look by carrying a plastic bag and tucking a packet of cigarettes under his belt. Among the 130 guests at London's Hedges and Butler nightclub was Mick's reported fiancée L'Wren Scott who happily mingled with Mick's children Lizzie, Jade and Georgia. James' mother, and Mick's ex-wife, Jerry Hall did not attend the party. She is understood to be on holiday with friends in the South of France, recovering from a badly sprained ankle. www.femalefirst.co.uk/celebrity/114492004.htm

Orlando Bloom's no to Knight RiderOrlando Bloom has turned down a role in the new 'Knight Rider' movie. The 'Pirates of the Caribbean' actor was approached by David Hasselhoff to play the son of Michael Knight, the character he made famous in the original 80s TV show, in the upcoming remake. Bloom told Britain's Daily Express newspaper: "He'd heard I was a fan of the old show and said, 'We're doing the movie version and I'd love you to play my son in it.' "I replied, 'Er, well, that sounds great, but you'd need to speak to my manager." Bloom - who is dating 'Superman Returns' actress Kate Bosworth - says he decided to pass on the offer because he was never really a die-hard fan of the series. He added: "I used to watch when I was eight but I didn't like it anymore than any other series. My favourites were 'The Fall' and 'The A-Team'." www.femalefirst.co.uk/celebrity/114372004.htm

Crocodile Hunter Steve Irwin Killed Steve Irwin, the hugely popular Australian television personality and environmentalist known as the "Crocodile Hunter," was killed Monday by a stingray while filming an underwater documentary on the Great Barrier Reef. He was 44. Irwin was killed by a stingray barb to the heart on Batt Reef, off the remote resort town of Port Douglas in northeastern Queensland state, his wildlife park Australia Zoo said in a statement. Crew members aboard Irwin's boat, Croc One, called emergency services in the nearest city, Cairns, and administered CPR as they rushed the boat to nearby Low Isle to meet a rescue helicopter. Medical staff pronounced Irwin dead a short time later, the statement said. Irwin was famous for his enthusiasm for wildlife and his catchword "Crikey!" in his television program "Crocodile Hunter," which was first broadcast in Australia in 1992 and has aired around the world on the Discovery channel. He rode his image into a feature film, and developed the Australia Zoo as a tourist attraction. "The world has lost a great wildlife icon, a passionate conservationist and one of the proudest dads on the planet," John Stainton, Irwin's friend and producer, said in the statement. "He died doing what he loves best and left this world in a happy and peaceful state of mind. Crocs Rule!" Foreign Minister Alexander Downer, who used a photograph of his family at Australia Zoo for his official Christmas card last year, hailed Irwin for his work in promoting Australia through projects such as "G'Day LA," an Australian tourism and trade promotion week in Los Angeles in January. "The minister knew him, was fond of him and was very, very appreciative of all the work he'd done to promote Australia overseas," Downer's spokesman Tony Parkinson said. Irwin's dedication to conservationist causes led him to become a vocal critic of wildlife hunts in Australia. The federal government recently dropped plans to allow crocodile safaris for wealthy tourists in the Northern Territory following his vehement objections. Irwin told the Australian television program "A Current Affair" that "killing one of our beautiful animals in the name of trophy hunting will have a very negative impact on tourism, which scares the living daylights out of me." However, Irwin had also received negative publicity in recent years. In January 2004, he stunned onlookers at the Australia Zoo reptile park by carrying his month-old son into a crocodile pen during a wildlife show. He tucked the infant under one arm while tossing the 13-foot reptile a piece of meat with the other. Authorities declined to charge Irwin for violating safety regulations. Later that year, he was accused of getting too close to penguins, a seal and humpback whales in Antarctica while making a documentary. Irwin denied any wrongdoing, and an Australian Environment Department investigation recommended no action be taken. He is survived by his American wife Terri, from Eugene, Ore., and their daughter Bindi Sue, 8, and son Bob, who will turn 3 in December. The couple met when she went on vacation in Australia in 1991 and visited Irwin's Australia Zoo; they were married six months later. Sometimes referred to as the Crocodile Huntress, she costarred on her husband's television show and in the 2002 movie, "The Crocodile Hunters: Collision Course." Stingrays have flat bodies and tails with serrated spines, which contain venom and can cause cuts and puncture wounds. The creatures are not aggressive and injury usually occurs when a swimmer or diver accidentally steps on one. Heard of it in the news at noon, that programme is broadcasted over here, it's quite good. In January 2004, he stunned onlookers at the Australia Zoo reptile park by carrying his month-old son into a crocodile pen during a wildlife show. He tucked the infant under one arm while tossing the 13-foot reptile a piece of meat with the other. Therefore I never thought much of him.

Ok, you are going to hear lots of cynical attitude from me concerning these celebrities! hee hee! I read all the magazines and keep up with everything I can so here goes! First of all, I have absolutely no sympathy for Paris Hilton! She is a wanna-be star with no talent who will do anything to be that! The fact that she said she was the icon of this century really got my goat. I mean what humble person would say such a thing? Not Paris! She is full of herself and anything and everything to do with herself. I heard today she got arrested for drunk driving..shame she got caught..poor thing! Saw photos of Suri Cruise yesterday! Beautiful baby! I can understand why they would want to protect her and wish people would give these folks (Tom and Katie) a break! Paul McCartney..oh my! I never thought this before till now, but I fear he made a horrible mistake by marrying Heather Mills. His kids tried to tell him. I tried to give her a break until recently! Why the heck is she asking for so much money? I mean most of us need a certain amount to live on...especially when there is a child involved. But it appears she thinks she needs tons more to live the life of luxory she was accustomed to while living with Sir Paul. however, I know there are always two sides to every story, but so far her story I am not buying! Mel Gibson? Well I have never been a great Mel fan, but I greatly loved his films and appreciated some of his beliefs. He has broken them recently. I am sorry to say he made anti-semetic comments. I kmow he was upset about be arrested in Malibu..where he lives and it must have been pretty embarrassing and humilating. I can see where he would have gotten pretty peeved, but to have made those anti-racial comments? I don't know if he really felt that in his heart or if he has been under a tremondous amount of stress because he got so much flack for "Passion of the Christ" and things his father said and he just completely went berserk! Hard to say. Meanwhile, I am greatly grieving the loss of Steve Irwin, the Crocodile Hunter. What a horrible, tragic loss for his family and the world.

Justin Timberlake's drunk confessionJustin Timberlake joked that he was "completely drunk" while appearing on a US talk show. The 'SexyBack' singer made the claim on 'The Late Show with David Letterman' after being asked about revelations he smoked "weed" during a recent interview. Timberlake quipped: "I make a promise to you I try not to do drugs while I'm doing interviews. I'm completely drunk right now." Letterman also quizzed Timberlake on his relationship with 'Charlie's Angels' actress Cameron Diaz, but the 25-year-old singer told the host he "didn't want to go into details". Letterman also grilled Justin - who was making his first appearance on the popular show - about his now infamous half-time performance with Janet Jackson at Super Bowl XXXVIII. www.femalefirst.co.uk/celebrity/116192004.htm

Drew doesn't want to be dubbed anymore!According to the latest tabloids, Drew Barrymore was so focused on using her own singing voice in her latest film "Lucky You," she went through voice coaching over a long period of time. The Charlie's Angels actress first found out she wasn't able to sing when director Woody Allen dubbed her vocals in the musical "Everybody Says I Love You" in the 90s. From then on, the Hollywood star has been resolved to better it and feels that her part as a lounge singer in Las Vegas offered her the chance to do so. She's quoted in the Sun newspaper as saying:"It was a really unfortunate moment in my life. "Ever since then I believed that I couldn't do it, and that I was a bit of a failure and a bit of a person who didn't try hard enough, and I've always had this sort of sick feeling about it." She also divulged: "I know when people hear my singing they'll say, 'What? She f****** sucks!' But if they had any idea just what it took to get to the f****** suck place - awesome!" www.femalefirst.co.uk/celebrity/116122004.htm

Steve Irwin fans' stingray revenge claimsSteve Irwin fans have allegedly been have been killing stingrays in a series of revenge attacks for his death. At least ten dead fish - several with their venomous barbed tails hacked off - were discovered on beaches in the eastern state of Queensland, Australia. Wildlife conservation experts believe the slaughter is a backlash over the death of the TV star, who died after a stingray's barb pierced his chest last Monday (04.09.06). Michael Hornby, who runs Irwin's conservation group the Wildlife Warrior fund, said: "We are disgusted and disappointed that people would take this sort of action to hurt wildlife. "It may be some sort of retribution, or it may be fear from certain individuals, or it may be just another callous act. That's the last thing Steve would want." Shortly after the wildlife expert's death, it was suggested that Irwin's attempt to save his own life by tearing the stingray barb out of his own chest was probably what killed him. www.femalefirst.co.uk/celebrity/116082004.htm
