Bono's stage frightBono suffers from stage fright. The U2 frontman admits he still gets attacks of pre-show nerves despite being one of the world's most revered rock stars and a member of the one of the biggest bands on the planet. Bono, whose phenomenally successful career has spanned over two decades, told Harper's Bazaar magazine: "The morning before a show I get nervous. I can wake up with a really bad sick feeling. I have to hit very high notes and if you hit them wrong you can put your throat out. So there's a, 'Will I? Won't I?' aspect to it. It used to worry me sick. That sense of, how could I meet the levels of expectation." The 'Vertigo' singer also insists that all rock stars and pop singers are insecure people because they need constant adulation from their fans. Bono, who is also known for his tireless work in trying to end Third World poverty, added: "If you're a rock star and you need 25,000 people telling you they love you then obviously you must be a very insecure person." www.femalefirst.co.uk/celebrity/116072004.htm

Daniel Smith, 20, was found slumped on a chair in his mother's Bahamas hospital room on Monday. Daniel had been visiting his mother and her new, three-day-old baby. Police are treating the death as suspicious and have confirmed another person was in the hospital room when Daniel died. Police will not reveal the identity of the person. Meanwhile, Daniel’s remains were to be returned to his home in California. A funeral home hired by the family of Anna Nicole yesterday said it expected receive Daniel’s body after an autopsy was completed. The same funeral home dealt with another Bahamas celebrity tragedy when it helped the family of R&B singer Aaliyah transport her body back to the United States following an August 2001 plane crash. Anna Nicole Smith married Texas oil tycoon J Howard Marshall II in 1994, when she was 26 and he was 89. He died the following year. She then feuded with Marshall's son, Pierce Marshall, over her entitlement to the tycoon's estate before he died in June at the age of 67. In the long-running dispute, Smith had won a $US474 million ($A632.72 million) (at current exchange rates) judgment, which was later cut to about $US89 million ($A118.8 million) and eventually reduced to zero. In May, the US Supreme Court ruled that the Smith could continue to pursue the fortune in federal courts in California despite a Texas state court ruling that Marshall's youngest son was the sole heir.

Armani, Clooney show that ageing can be sexy MILAN - Giorgio Armani gave his younger rivals a lesson in effortless cool today, showing shirts and suits so casually sexy actor George Clooney says they could help him cope with ageing. Men wearing broad-shouldered pinstripe suits and dandy shoes strolled down the catwalk in small groups, hands in their pockets or arm-in-arm with chic girls in flowing silk trousers and jauntily tilted Parisian berets. "It's beautiful. I've only been to one of his shows before, I haven't really been to menswear shows often," Clooney told Reuters after the show, in the middle of Milan fashion week. "I usually can't wear clothes like that because they are made for men in their 20s, and you've got to understand that when you're ageing, suits become more important." Leaning against a wall, a champagne glass in his hand and wearing a black suit, Clooney, 45, reflected the slightly rakish yet relaxed style that infused the entire show. It was the only big-name fashion show this week that had the audience breaking out in spontaneous applause as men with sunglasses paraded loose trousers and tailored waistcoats, cardigans that followed the shape of the back without clinging, and urban suits that had grown-up sex appeal. "Being sexy as a man is not about being muscular. It's the way he looks at you, the way he moves ... his way of dressing," Armani told reporters after the show. It was a contrast to Dolce & Gabbana's gym heroes with six-packs who marched down the catwalk in boxer shorts and tight briefs on Monday, and Miuccia Prada's boys in shiny plastic shorts in primary colours. Armani preferred loose Bermuda shorts and drawstring trousers as a holiday look, or pyjama-ish shirts with Nehru collars. www.nzherald.co.nz

Oh gosh! I totally forgot about this thread, Andi! I am so very sorry for having started an "Entertainment news" thread. I am always in a big hurry when I go through my emails and such...such an awful excuse, eh? Plus, I accidently deleted all my bookmarks and that didn't help.
I will ask if Elly will delete my thread. I am so very sorry once again.
Anyway, I love this kind of stuff. It is a grand escape for me, but can't believe I missed it! How could I have missed this?!
I hear Brittney Spears isn't doing too well in rehab...so they say.
I am very anxious to hear the autopsy results of Anna Nichole Smith................and what they come up with of Daniel! for some reason I thought they had already solved that case!
hard to believe someone like Bono would get stage fright, eh?

Don't know anything about Pete Doherty! Never heard of the guy before!
Really sad about Anna Nichole Smith. We all suspected there would be a drug overdose, but it was confirmed today had had 9 Rx drugs in her system and overdosed on choral hydrate. Ok, my question is this! She three medical professional looking after her...an MD, bodyguard/paramedic, and his nurse wife. Now...how come this woman died? Was someone not monitoring her medication intake as supposedly she was very ill. Plus she had this infection in the buttocks where needles were putting drugs in to her and caused a blood poisioning to the point of death. It appears to me that she didn't care about herself, let alone anyone close to her.
We can only hope that someone will take care of Dannielynn and be all the protective parent they can be. so sad.
