You may find it interesting Elly. The language is a bit too strong at times, but it's easy to be drawn into the story lines. Ian McShane was nominated for an Emmy Award for his portrayal of Swearengen but didn't win.

Last Rites (1988)
Michael Pace (Tom Berenger), a Catholic priest whose father is a Mafia don, falls in love with Angela (Daphne Zuniga), a murder witness. To complicate matters, the murder Angela witnessed was the vendetta shooting of Michael's sister's husband, who turned in state evidence on his father-in-law, the don. Michael's torn between his dedication to Christ, loyalty to his family and his feelings for Angela, who turns out to be anything but innocent.
To me the movie was a little weird and just a bit confusing.

At the weekend I mamanged to see "THE LEGEND OF ZORRO"...I loved the first "Zorro" movie and I think that Banderas/Zeta-Jones are a good choice for the parts of Don Alejandro and Elena de la Vega... Now, I wasn't disappointed by part 2 at all. It's a great full speed action comedy with many elements like in the "Indiana Jones" movies as well as a bit of the dramaturgy of James Bond...a lot of action ( excellent fighting scenes ) spiced with humour and thrill. Maybe this is no coincidence because the director is Martin Campbell who is the director of "Golden Eye" and the new Bond movie "Casino Royale". On a scale from 0 - 10 I'd rate it with "8"...and absolutely worth seeing if you like this kind of movies.

I watched "The Upside of Anger" the other day and really enjoyed it, would give it a 9/10 #ssmile#
Kevin Costner plays a baseball player, but the movie is not about baseball; it deals with the anger the lead character feels when her husband disappears, along with his secretary. Joan Allen plays the wife of the missing man, and is the mother to four daughters, played very well by Evan Rachel Wood, Keri Russel, Erika Christensen, and Alicia Witt. Joan Allen was marvelous. We laughed many times when she glared in anger at different characters in the movie (and we were glad she wasn't mad at US! LOL...) I have not been a big fan of Kevin Costner in recent years, but thought that he did a great job as the man who helps Joan Allen's character pick up the pieces. The writer/director also has a role in the film as an older man who dates Joan Allen's daughter. I thought the message of the film was delivered well, and it was an entertaining story.

I watched 'Dear Frankie' this afternoon and really liked it, would recommend it, a really good unpredictable film about normal everyday people. and it has Gerard Butler #ssmile#
Plot Summary for Dear Frankie (2004) Nine-year-old Frankie and his single mum Lizzie have been on the move ever since Frankie can remember, most recently arriving in a seaside Scottish town. Wanting to protect her deaf son from the truth that they've run away from his father, Lizzie has invented a story that he is away at sea on the HMS Accra. Every few weeks, Lizzie writes Frankie a make-believe letter from his father, telling of his adventures in exotic lands. As Frankie tracks the ship's progress around the globe, he discovers that it is due to dock in his hometown. With the real HMS Accra arriving in only a fortnight, Lizzie must choose between telling Frankie the truth or finding the perfect stranger to play Frankie's father for just one day...
