The Celtic Blessing of the Nine Elements
May you go forth under the strength of heaven, under the light of the sun, under the radiation of moon; may you go forth with the splendor of fire, with the speed of lightening, with the swiftness of wind; may you go forth supported by the depth of sea, by the stability of earth, by the firmness of rock; May you be surrounded and encircled, with the protection of the nine elements.

This is the blessing my dad used at my wedding to Greg, and the guy who did the hand fasting for Chris and Steph at their wedding in June there, asked us to write a blessing for them, read it to them then you had to drink whiskey from a bowl, it had a special name.. a gaelic word...so we decided to keep the tradition going and use this blessing for the kids too.
May the road rise up to meet you
May the road rise up to meet you. May the wind be always at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face; the rains fall soft upon your fields and until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of His hand.

This is the full text: "May the road rise to meet you, May the wind be always at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face, The rains fall soft upon your fields. And until we meet again, May God hold you in the palm of his hand.
May God be with you and bless you: May you see your children's children. May you be poor in misfortune, Rich in blessings. May you know nothing but happiness From this day forward.
May the road rise up to meet you May the wind be always at your back May the warm rays of sun fall upon your home And may the hand of a friend always be near.
May green be the grass you walk on, May blue be the skies above you, May pure be the joys that surround you, May true be the hearts that love you."
It's so beautiful, no?

If there is righteousness in the heart, there will be beauty in the character. If there is beauty in the character, there will be harmony in the home. If there is harmony in the home, there will be order in the nation. If there is order in the nation, there will be peace in the world. So let it be.
