Here's the schedule!
Sat. 22 Sept. Met at Edinburgh Airport. By train (at own cost) to Aviemore station, just south of Inverness. I will meet you at the station and take you to Corrour House hotel in Cairngorms National Park. Introductions and Outline of Programme. Dinner included.
Sun. 23 Sept. Culloden Battlefield, Clava Cairns, Beauly Priory (Ann Fraser), Castle Leod, Red Castle. Evening presentation of kilt and Jacobite weapons. Dinner included.
Mon 24 Sept. ‘Royal Deeside’ (Crathie Kirk, Ballater, views of Balmoral Castle), a little wild countryside and Craigievar Castle. Stay Castle Stuart . Dinner included.
Tue 25 Sept By Urquhart Castle and Loch Ness to Glenelg. See the brochs and cross to Skye on small ferry. Stay Eilean Iarmain. Dinner not included.
Wed 26 Sept Day on Skye, including Eilean Donan and Dunvegan castles. Talk on clearances and crofting life in 18th century. Dinner not included.
Thur 27 Sept Ferry from Armadale to Mallaig then by Glenfinnan to Fort William, Glencoe, Rannoch Moor and Stirling. Stay Edinburgh small central hotel. Pub supper (not included)
Fri 28 Sept All day walking tour (but not all day walking!) with local guide from hotel above Princes Street to the Royal Mile. Celebratory final dinner in the evening (included).
Saturday 29th Tour ends after breakfast. Suggest Edinburgh Castle (with personal audio guide) in the morning if time allows.
A few of us that have gotten to know each other via e-mails will stay in Edinburgh an extra day leaving for home on 09/30/07.
