This is another large wolrd wide event that has come to my knowledge. This one is being planned for 2010. So the event organisers have plenty of time to get this large event organized.
12,000 pipers to take part in bagpipe festival around globe
THE skirl of the bagpipes is set to sound around the world in a massive Pipefest.
The 24-hour celebration will involve 12,000 pipers and drummers in 70 locations, beginning in Edinburgh.
They will include Inverness, Belfast, Los Angeles, Indianapolis and New York in the US, Reykjavik, Rome, Cape Town, Islamabad, Perth in Australia and Osaka in Japan.
Magnus Orr, of Epic Concerts, who are organising Pipefest 2010, said: "We want to unite pipers from all over the world with a 24-hour programme, with each segment starting 20 minutes after the last one, so that piping will eventually circumnavigate the world.
"It will bring an enormous amount of publicity and goodwill to Scotland.
"However, the principal objective is to help raise money for cancer care charities and to unite countries around the world whose cultural identity is enriched by the pipes and drums."
The team orchestrated the hugely successful Pipefest events in Edinburgh which have drawn thousands of pipers from dozens of countries.
A worldwide TV audience of 100million is expected for the event in July 2010.
So perhaps if you read about planning in your own part of the world for this event you could print it here for us all to read.

How exciting I love bagpipes! And it's all for a good cause too. Wonderful!
