Hi to you all. We had a great afternoon over at Kirkcaldy Links Market in Fife today with Andrew. The market is now mainly Traveling Shows. But this once a year event has been going on since 1304. One of the biggest and most modern street funfairs in Europe, the event regularly attracts between 100,000 and 150,000 visitors over 6 days in April and features fairground operators from across the Continent. This is shows which operate on a closed public road right in front of houses. The main rule is that they must stop trading at 10.30pm except for Saturday where they can trade up to 11pm and Sunday they can only trade up to 9pm This year we werer pleased to say the security was great with plenty of Police Officers and also pleanty of First Aid Attendants walking about the crowds. Plus they were using several CCTV units. The History of the market can be found on the following link www.linksmarket.org.uk/index.htmlLooking along the fair ground from approx half way. From the same location but looking the other way. The view from the top of this ride must have great. Andrew with Granny Christine on one of the ride`s aimed atthe small children. Looking at some of the high operation rides at the market. I am sure you can see from these photos that Andrew Enjoyed his first time at any shows. I hope you have enjoyed looking at the photos plus the history of the shows. Neil
