Discuss your favourite period in time, your favourite bands in "modern" music, artists, whatever... For me the 70s and early 80s have been the period in music which influenced me most...well, I'm a child of the 70s...it was a lot of Hard Rock and Heavy Metal I have been listening to, bands like AC/DC, Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden...(my parents nearly drove nuts! ;D); >:(I loved other music, too, bands like Pink Floyd, the Doors, Ten Years After, Genesis, Joe Cocker, Emerson Lake and Palmer, Fleetwood Mac, Supertramp...oh my, I could go on for hours... And there were the typical folk or protest songs by Joan Baez or Bob Dylan we all knew by heart and played them on our guitars, sitting there in a bit of ragged jeans and a leather cord around our frontheads ...It's a wide, wide range from the 60s/70s to present music ...so what are your favourites, what are your stories or perhaps memories you remember?

I would say that the 70s and 80s are my favorite time period as well. I LOVED Emerson, Lake and Palmer, Jethro Tull, Deep Purple, The Guess Who, Rush, Aerosmith, and U2! I am sure I am leaving some out! Can't remember them all right now.

Although I grew up in the 80s, it was the 90s which influenced me most. Looks like I am the baby in here Oh well, there were some boybands I liked and that techno stuff which came up. I don't remember much of the 80s but I quite like them nowadays.

I think i can safely say that as a child of the 70´s , this period of music from mid to end of influenced me most . I remember the Glam Rock bands , the Rock bands of the late 70´s . One form of music out of the much late 70´s was Punk Rock . As i heard some of the first groups i thought ..wow ;D , this is cool , bands like The Ramones , Pistols , Clash , Stranglers etc . I love until now Rock music from bands like The Who , Pink Floyd , Black Sabbath , Jimi Hendrix , Cream , The Rolling Stones , the list is endless .

I especially liked Pink Floyd...amongst some others. "Dark Side of the Moon" is my favourite I think... One memory I have if it comes to Pink Floyd is "Echos"...you remember that song? A slooooooow one. A loooooooong one. It was on a party and I danced to this song with a very nice guy...close of course. This is how I got to know my first REAL boyfriend and when I got my first REAL kiss....och...memories....*HEAVY sigh*

Dreamy how right you are music is a pleasure which travels with us through our lives . Everybody has their favourite type of music which turns them on and makes them feel good . I could not imagine life without any music imagine how boring and quiet it would be .

My Mammy told me that I have been "dancing" to music even before I could walk and that I was always singing when I was a wee one. It's like in John Miles' song..."Music was my first love and it'll be my last...:"

I don't have a favorite time period in music. I love music / songs from many different periods of time and from many different places in the world.
