Hi to you all. Midlothian lies south of Edinburgh. Midlothian is part of the Lothians which is split in three and the areas are known as West Lothian - Midlothian - and East Lothain. Midlothain was mainly Coal Mining where we have the Scottish mining muesum outside Newtongrange. Also Paper was produced in Midlothain. A lot of paper for the bank notes was produced in Penicuik Midlothian. Midlothian also produced Carpets and sadly the factorys are now closed. Roslin Chapel in Roslin Midlothian is world famous for the Da Vinci Code. West Lothain was mainly Coal mining and manfacture of Lorrys . East Lothian was mainly coal mining and sea fishing. Some of of the fishing ports are still in use. Butthey are not as busy as they used to be. North Berwick in East Lothian has the World Famous Sea Bird Centre with the live webcam linksduring the day time. The website for this place is www.seabird.orgThe Muesum of flight is also in this area where Concorde is located. Hope this gives you all an idea of where Midlothian lies and a little history of the area.

Thank you Neil for the information, was having a look at your link on the bird centre, very good webcams there. Roslin is getting a lot of interest these days. Linlithgow is a place I would like to re-visit.

Thank you and glad you liked the webcams from the Seabird Centre. They are trying to improve the picture quality at the moment. It is so funny to think that you are watching what someone using the camera is watching. We normaly go to the centre at least five times a year It is only a 40 minute drive from our house. Roslin Chapel is doing a lot of trade with the Da Vinci Code book and film but the village has not taken up the chance to move forward to accept more tourists. I feel personaly they could have done more to boost the tourist trade. Midlothian has a number of old Castles also. Some have been converted in to Hotels the rest are just ruins which the public have access to. A lot of the ruined castles including a few of the converted ones have links to Mary Queen of Scots. Who seemed to spend a lot of time in the Midlothian area. Not that I am that old to know personaly.

We would love to see the pics, Neil! If you are not sure how to get them posted, just have a look at the "Computer Hints" forum; there is a thread called "Post Pics" where Elly explained how it works. Good luck!

Every body stand here goes. No big bang, well, thank God, eh? ; the pics turned out fantastic; thanks a lot, Neil! And take your time; sorry if I sounded like trying to push you #no# . It's just that I'm tending to be a bit too impatient at times
