Tonight I'm going to watch 'Sunshine' a Danny Boyle (Shallow Grave, Trainspotting) Sci-Fi movie in the vein of Solaris and 2001: A Space Odyssey, really looking forward to it. I also want to see The Bourne Ultimatum... I loved that first two. Shortly I'm going start a series of threads/posts looking at, in depth, Scottish movies, actors, and film makers, from the early beginnings to the modern day Also I am going to begin a thread that will take you through a tour of my home county Wigtownshire, then into South Ayrshire and over to Kirkcudbrightshire, again in some depth. I hope this will be of interest to everyone.... Richard That'd be great, you could add them to the 'Scottish Films' thread?

Well I find Gerry a honey anyway, but I really do need to see those two films you gals mentioned.
One film I saw this week was "The Last King of Scotland." Not sure what you all think about this film but for me? I was pretty ignorant when it came to anything in Africa...I am embarrassed to admit. Had a great Scottish actor, James McAvoy, only to discover he has done many films recently. The film was very intense and horrific in many scenes. Being based on a true story helped me understand and learn what goes on in other countries besides my own.
Regardless of how you feel, I would recommend seeing this film.

I loved that film Rosemary, I actually remember when Amin declared himself King of Scotland, it would have been quite funny if he wasn't such a nutter, more to annoy the English I suppose but I really did enjoy that film, I too would highly recommend it

Oh I must get "Dear Frankie" all the more then!
Last night I watched a BBC film based on Jane Austen called "Persuasion." Good film...very BBC English... ;D....a little confusing on the details but anything pertaining to Jane Austen I love.

I just came back from the movies - I have been in the first night of "Rambo IV" - and to say the truth my expectations have been quite low before. But you know what? While usually the sequels of a movie tend to get worse this film is as good as the first Rambo movie. You don't believe it? Then go and give it a try and make up your own opinion. If you are a fan of this kind of films - LOTS of action and fighting scenes - you should love it. In any case my money wasn't wasted at all and it's amazing how fit this "old man" still is. I would rate it 8 or 9 of ten at least!
