Children of Men A futuristic society faces extinction when no children are born and the human race has lost the ability to reproduce. England has descended into chaos, until an iron-handed warden is brought in to institute martial law. The warden's ability to keep order is threatened when a woman finds that she is pregnant with what would be the first child born in 27 years. Starring: Julianne Moore, Clive Owen, Michael Caine, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Charlie Hunnam It takes place only 20 years from now which makes it a bit scary. A bit hard for me to follow in places, a lot of action though.

I haven't seen the newer version of The Omen yet. I really liked the original.

Merlin: The Return The greatest magician in the world isn't about to let a little thing like being over 1,500 years old stop him from saving England in this comic adventure. Miss Maxwell (Tia Carrere), an unscrupulous scientist from the United States, has arrived in England with a plan to use the manipulation of magnetic fields to bring evil sorcerer Mordred (Craig Sheffer) back from the dead and into the present day. Hoping to stop Maxwell's scheme before it's too late, the ancient magician Merlin (Rik Mayall) comes to the rescue; however, he's a bit too old to handle the job all by himself, and Merlin is forced to enlist the help of some friends from his salad days -- King Arthur (Patrick Bergin), Sir Lancelot (Adrian Paul), and Guinevere (Julie Hartley). It's a 2000 movie I bought it from eBay. If you like fantasy as much as I do, you will enjoy this one Who's that man in red again?? #confused# #happy# I will certainly risk an eye or two. LLady! [

In the great nation of Emperor Penguins, deep in Antarctica, you’re nobody unless you can sing--which is unfortunate for Mumble, who is the worst singer in the world. He is born dancing to his own tune--tap dancing. Though Mumble’s mom, Norma Jean, thinks this little habit is cute, his dad, Memphis, says it “just ain’t penguin.” Besides, they both know that, without a Heartsong, Mumble may never find true love. As fate would have it, his one friend, Gloria, happens to be the best singer around. Mumble and Gloria have a connection from the moment they hatch, but she struggles with his strange “hippity- hoppity” ways. Mumble is just too different--especially for Noah the Elder, the stern leader of Emperor Land, who ultimately casts him out of the community. Away from home for the first time, Mumble meets a posse of decidedly un-Emperor-like penguins--the Adelie Amigos. Led by Ramon, the Adelies instantly embrace Mumble’s cool dance moves and invite him to party with them. In Adelie Land, Mumble seeks the counsel of Lovelace the Guru, a crazy-feathered Rockhopper penguin who will answer any of life’s questions for the price of a pebble. Together with Lovelace and the Amigos, Mumble sets out across vast landscapes and, after some epic encounters, proves that by being true to yourself, you can make all the difference in the world. This is a wonderful movie for kids and adults as well.

A boy named Eragon finds a polished blue stone in the forest. At first, he thinks it's a lucky discovery, something that will bring meat to his poor family for the winter. Instead, it brings a dragon hatchling, and Eragon is soon thrust into a world of magic and power through which he and the dragon must navigate. This one I really did enjoy! I like dragons and this one is beautiful! I loved the story.

James Bond's first 007 mission takes him to Madagascar, where he is to spy on a terrorist Mollaka. Not everything goes as planned and Bond decides to investigate, independently of the MI6 agency, in order to track down the rest of the terrorist cell. Following a lead to the Bahamas, he encounters Dimitrios and his girlfriend, Solange. He learns that Dimitrios is involved with Le Chiffre, banker to the world's terrorist organizations. Secret Service intelligence reveals that Le Chiffre is planning to raise money in a high-stakes poker game in Montenegro at Le Casino Royale. MI6 assigns 007 to play against him, knowing that if Le Chiffre loses, it will destroy his organization. 'M' places Bond under the watchful eye of the beguiling Vesper Lynd. At first skeptical of what value Vesper can provide, Bond's interest in her deepens as they brave danger together--and even torture at the hands of Le Chiffre. In Montenegro, Bond allies himself with Matthis, MI6's local field agent, and Felix Leiter, who is representing the interests of the CIA. The marathon game proceeds with dirty tricks and violence, raising the stakes beyond blood money and reaching a terrifying climax. It may sound funny, I've been a 007 movie fan for as long as I can remember, but this is the first one that I didn't enjoy.

One Night with the King ! "This historical epic offers a solid two hours of spectacle and intrigue drawn from The Book of Esther by way of Tommy Tenney and Mark Andrew Olsen's novel Hadassah. Susa, Persia, 4th century BC: Orphaned Hadassah (Tiffany Dupont) has been raised by her uncle Mordecai (John Rhys-Davies), a Jewish scribe to the court of King Xerxes (Brit-rocker Luke Goss), to be a pious, faithful woman. Though Persia has a significant Jewish population, they live there at the whim of the king and are always vulnerable. Persia is on the brink of war with Greece, and during a lavish banquet meant to exalt Xerxes' wealth and beneficence, the king is publicly offended by his wife, Queen Vashti (Jyoti Dogra). He divorces her and orders young women from throughout his kingdom gathered as potential queens, Hadassah among them. On her uncle's advice, she changes her name to Esther to disguise her Jewishness. Esther befriends court eunuch Hegai (Tiny Lister), who helps maneuver her into Xerxes' path, and the king is impressed by her beauty, intelligence and spirit. She becomes queen, but is plunged into a nest of court intrigue. While Prince Memucan (Omar Sharif), who served Xerxes' father, offers wise and moderate counsel, Prince Admantha (John Noble) is plotting to snatch the crown for himself. Admantha is in cahoots with head guard Haman (James Callis), but Haman has his own agenda: A descendent of the Agakite people slaughtered by ancient Jewish king Saul on the advice of Samuel the Prophet (a wild-eyed Peter O'Toole), he wants to see the Jewish people exterminated. As Xerxes prepares for war against the Greeks, who killed his father, Haman rises through the ranks by deceit and betrayal, and is eventually named a prince. When he makes clear his intention to have Persia's Jews killed, Esther must risk her own life to save her people. I really enjoyed this one!
